| The Christian faith teaches that just as
| |
| | not created or made but, rather, was the
|
| Adam and Eve were two persons but one
| |
| | eternal and only begotten Son of the
|
| flesh so too the Father, Son, and Holy
| |
| | Father that it was truly a painful and
|
| Spirit are three Persons but one God. The
| |
| | enormous sacrifice for God the Father to
|
| Lord Jesus Christ was both God and
| |
| | give up His Son over to cruel suffering
|
| man.But was not Christ begotten of the
| |
| | and death on the Cross for our sins. That
|
| Father? Yes, but this does not mean He
| |
| | is why it is written, "For God so loved
|
| was created or made. You and I were
| |
| | the world, that He gave His only begotten
|
| begotten of our parents, but our parents
| |
| | Son, that whosoever believeth in Him (His
|
| in no way created us just because we were
| |
| | Son Jesus Christ) should not perish, but
|
| begotten of them. Our life had already
| |
| | have everlasting life" (John 3:16). As
|
| existed in our parents before they had
| |
| | Son of God, Christ was fully God and as
|
| begotten us. In fact, we really existed
| |
| | Son of Man Christ was fully man. The
|
| from the time of Adam and Eve even though
| |
| | Scriptures use both titles "Son of God"
|
| we were begotten many centuries later.
| |
| | and "Son of Man" in referring to Christ
|
| How is that so? Well, did not God finish
| |
| | because He was both. What about Hebrews
|
| His work of creation on the seventh day
| |
| | 1:9 where the Father says to the Son
|
| according to Genesis? If that is so then
| |
| | "...therefore God, even Thy God..." Why
|
| we had to have existed in some form from
| |
| | does the Father say "Thy God" to the Son
|
| the time of Adam and Eve since God was no
| |
| | if the Son is equally God with the
|
| longer in the routine business of
| |
| | Father. How can the Father be God to His
|
| creating anything after the seventh day
| |
| | own Son and the Son also be God? The
|
| of creation week. In the case of Christ
| |
| | great Reformed theologian and Christian
|
| it is completely logical to say that He
| |
| | writer Arthur W. Pink gives us an
|
| existed from all eternity in some form in
| |
| | understanding to this paradox. In the
|
| the Father before He was begotten as God.
| |
| | context of the passage in Hebrews 1:9 the
|
| In fact, in John 1:18 Scripture teaches
| |
| | Father's statement to the Son is made
|
| that Christ is the "only begotten God"
| |
| | after the Son's incarnation and when the
|
| (this is the literal translation from the
| |
| | Son assumes the throne to His eternal
|
| Greek New Testament). The word "begotten"
| |
| | kingdom when it is established. The Son's
|
| in the passage comes from a Greek word
| |
| | human nature (in the incarnation) was
|
| from which we get our English word
| |
| | created by the Father so the Father in
|
| "generate". To "generate" means to "bring
| |
| | that respect was God even to His Son. But
|
| forth" out of pre-existing substance,
| |
| | in His divinity Christ was equally God
|
| whereas to"create" means to "bring forth"
| |
| | with the Father.Another passage that is
|
| out of nothing. Just as sunlight is
| |
| | often misused by those who deny Christ's
|
| generated from the sun but is not created
| |
| | deity is 1 Thessalonians 4:16 which
|
| by the sun, so, too, Christ was generated
| |
| | reads: "For the Lord Himself (referring
|
| (begotten) from the Father but was not
| |
| | to Christ) shall descend from heaven with
|
| created by the Father. Amen!! Amen!!After
| |
| | a shout, with the voice of the archangel,
|
| (Christ) was begotten of the Father the
| |
| | and with the trump of God ..." Because
|
| Father then through Christ (His only
| |
| | the passage says that Christ will descend
|
| begotten Son) made all the universe (John
| |
| | with the voice of the archangel some
|
| 1:3, Colossians 1:15-16). And, of course,
| |
| | teach that Christ, therefore, is an
|
| much later in time Christ was also
| |
| | archangel. But the passage also says that
|
| begotten as man. In John 8:58 we read the
| |
| | Christ will descend with the trump of
|
| words of Christ "Before Abraham was born
| |
| | God. Does that then make Christ a
|
| I AM". It is clear from the use of the
| |
| | trumpet? I hope not! The passage is
|
| words "I AM" in this context that our
| |
| | simply saying that the archangel will be
|
| beloved Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was
| |
| | involved in introducing the second coming
|
| claiming eternality which only the true
| |
| | of Christ. It is not saying that Christ
|
| God can claim. It is important to
| |
| | is the archangel! The word "angel" itself
|
| understand, also, that although Christ
| |
| | means "messenger" or "one who is sent" in
|
| existed from all eternity within the
| |
| | Greek, the language of the New Testament.
|
| Father, He was generated (or begotten)
| |
| | The Hebrew Old Testament also has this
|
| only once as God. In other words, God the
| |
| | meaning. The context determines the
|
| Father was not eternally generating His
| |
| | nature of the messenger. In the Old
|
| Son. The concept and traditional doctrine
| |
| | Testament, for example, the "Angel of the
|
| of the eternal generation of Christ does
| |
| | Lord" is understood as being none other
|
| not make any sense anymore than it would
| |
| | than Jehovah. This is seen from the
|
| make sense to say that a human father is
| |
| | context. Even though the word "Trinity"
|
| continually begetting the same son over
| |
| | is not found in the Bible the meaning is
|
| and over again. But, again, just because
| |
| | there in Scripture. Just because a word
|
| Christ was not eternally generated does
| |
| | is not found in Scripture doesn't mean
|
| not mean that Christ is not eteranl
| |
| | the meaning of that word is not there.
|
| because Christ did exist from all
| |
| | For example, the word "theocracy" is not
|
| eternity, in some form, within God the
| |
| | found in Scripture but its meaning exists
|
| Father before He was begotten as God.But
| |
| | in Scripture since Israel in the Old
|
| if Christ was God how, then, could He
| |
| | Testament was a theocracy which means a
|
| die? The Scriptures teach that God can
| |
| | nation ruled by God.But isn't the concept
|
| and did die. We read in Revelation
| |
| | of God being a Trinity found in pagan
|
| 1:17-18 "... Fear not; I am the First and
| |
| | religions? Well, even pagan religions
|
| the Last: I am He that liveth, and was
| |
| | have some elements of original truth even
|
| dead; and, behold, I am alive
| |
| | though that original truth may have been
|
| forevermore, Amen ..." The title "First
| |
| | perverted by Satan (the Devil). Satan is
|
| and the Last" is from the Old Testament
| |
| | a copy cat. The Devil takes what he knows
|
| and it is a title that belongs only to
| |
| | is true, perverts and twists it and
|
| Jehovah (or God). Thus it is none other
| |
| | plants the perverted and twisted forms of
|
| than Jehovah (or God) Who is saying that
| |
| | the truth in human societies and
|
| He died. We know from the context of the
| |
| | cultures. Satan didn't invent the concept
|
| first chapter in Revelation that it is
| |
| | of the Trinity. Satan already knew that
|
| none other than Christ who is speaking
| |
| | God was a Trinity from the beginning of
|
| here. No one has the power to kill God,
| |
| | creation, but Satan planted a perverted
|
| but God can, if He so chooses, give up
| |
| | and twisted concept of the Trinity into
|
| His life so long as it is for a morally
| |
| | the pagan religions that existed before
|
| right cause and purpose. Just as it is
| |
| | Christianity so that future generations
|
| not morally wrong for one human being to
| |
| | can be deceived into believing that the
|
| sacrifice his life for another so it is
| |
| | Trinity is of pagan origin when it really
|
| not wrong for God to sacrifice His life
| |
| | is not. The Bible teaches that the Devil
|
| for those whom He created. This is
| |
| | is a master at such tactics. The pure,
|
| exactly what God (the Son) did on the
| |
| | unperverted, and uncorrupted truth of the
|
| Cross. Phillippians 2:5-8 tells us that
| |
| | Trinity, however, is found only in the
|
| Christ gave up equality (positionally)
| |
| | Christian Scriptures.What about
|
| with God (the Father) when He became a
| |
| | Colossians 1:15 where Christ is referred
|
| man and dwelt on the earth. Although He
| |
| | to as the "Firstborn of all creation"?
|
| was still God even after He became man,
| |
| | Doesn't this mean Christ was created? No!
|
| He gave up the rights that He possessed
| |
| | The very next verse (verse 16) tells us
|
| as God when He lived on earth. That is
| |
| | why Christ is called the Firstborn of all
|
| why when He was on earth He was fully
| |
| | creation. It's not because He was created
|
| dependent upon His Father to perform
| |
| | but precisely the opposite: because He is
|
| miracles.Doesn't Hebrews 1:4, at least in
| |
| | the Creator of all things. The
|
| the King James Version, say that Christ
| |
| | preposition "of" in the original language
|
| was made better than the angels? The word
| |
| | of the Greek New Testament can also be
|
| "made" in the passage is better
| |
| | translated as "over." In other words,
|
| translated as "became". Christ became
| |
| | Christ Who is God the Father's Firstborn
|
| better than the angels. Again, at His
| |
| | is over all creation because it was
|
| first coming as Man the Scripture teaches
| |
| | through Christ that the Father created
|
| that Christ humbled Himself. He was made
| |
| | all things (John 1:3; Colossians 1:16).
|
| (or became) lower than the angels
| |
| | The term "firstborn" in Scripture is the
|
| (Hebrews 2:9). Hebrews 1:3 teaches that
| |
| | title given to the one in the family who
|
| after Christ made purification for sins
| |
| | inherits everything. It is a positional
|
| He sat down at the right hand of God (the
| |
| | title more than anything else. In the Old
|
| Father). That is when He became better
| |
| | Testament God had referred to David as
|
| than the angels because God the Father
| |
| | being His "firstborn" even though David
|
| had restored to His Son His original
| |
| | was the youngest of the children in his
|
| position. It was after Christ died for
| |
| | family. This was because David would
|
| our sins, rose from the dead, and
| |
| | eventually rule over all Israel. Thus,
|
| ascended into heaven, and sat down at the
| |
| | God used the term "firstborn" as a title
|
| right hand of God (the Father) that God
| |
| | of position. In reference to Christ, it
|
| the Father restored to His Son His
| |
| | is important to understand that the title
|
| preeminent position again (Philippians
| |
| | "firstborn" does not imply that Christ
|
| 2:6-9). This is what Jesus meant when
| |
| | was simply the first among other divinely
|
| shortly before He went to the Cross He
| |
| | begotten sons of God. John 1:18 makes it
|
| prayed to His Father "And now, O Father,
| |
| | clear that Christ is God's only begotten.
|
| glorify Thou Me with Thine Own Self with
| |
| | So God had no other divinely begotten
|
| the glory which I had with Thee before
| |
| | sons. In the case of Christ the title
|
| the world was" (John 17:5). Christ is
| |
| | "firstborn" is used simply to describe
|
| still both God and Man, but as Man He
| |
| | His position in relation to creation -
|
| became exalted above the angels after He
| |
| | that He is Supreme over all creation. What
|
| finished His work on earth. Of course, in
| |
| | about Revelation 3:14 where Christ calls
|
| His essential divine being and nature,
| |
| | Himself "the beginning of the creation of
|
| however, Christ was always superior to
| |
| | God." Doesn't that teach Christ was
|
| the angels. But if Christ was equally God
| |
| | created? No! The word for "beginning" in
|
| along with the Father and the Holy Spirit
| |
| | the passage comes from the Greek word or
|
| then why did Christ say to His Father in
| |
| | root "arche" which means "origin" or
|
| John 17:3 that the Father was the only
| |
| | "source." In other words, Christ is the
|
| true God. The word "only" in the passage
| |
| | beginning (the origin or source) of God's
|
| must be understood in its proper context.
| |
| | creation. It doesn't mean that Christ
|
| Christ was not comparing the Father to
| |
| | Himself was created! The word "God" is a
|
| Himself when He said the Father was the
| |
| | name. That Name equally belongs to the
|
| only true God. Rather, Christ was
| |
| | Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
|
| comparing the Father to the pagan deities
| |
| | That is why Christ said to His disciples
|
| that the gentiles of His time worshipped
| |
| | to baptize all nations in the "name
|
| when He was on earth. In comparison to
| |
| | (singular) of the Father, and of the Son,
|
| these pagan deities Christ was saying
| |
| | and of the Holy Ghost (Spirit)..."
|
| that the Father was the only true God.
| |
| | (Matthew 28:19). When the name "God" is
|
| This has to be the meaning or otherwise
| |
| | mentioned in Scripture without specifying
|
| we will have a contradiction in the
| |
| | the Son or the Spirit it is usually
|
| Scriptures. For Scripture also teaches in
| |
| | understood as referring to the Father. In
|
| 1 John 5:20 that Christ is "the true God
| |
| | John 1:1 shouldn't Christ be referred to
|
| and eternal life." It is important to
| |
| | as a God because there is no Greek
|
| understand the words of Scripture in the
| |
| | article? The absence of the Greek article
|
| context of what all of Scripture teaches
| |
| | does not necessarily mean that the letter
|
| on any given issue or subject of
| |
| | "a" is to be substituted. The context
|
| doctrine. The Scriptures clearly teach
| |
| | must demand it. There are various places
|
| that Christ is God (e.g. John 1:1;
| |
| | in Scripture where the Father is referred
|
| Hebrews 1:8; Titus 2:13). In Titus 2:13
| |
| | to as God without the Greek article (i.e.
|
| Christ is referred to as "our great God
| |
| | John 1:6) but no one would refer the
|
| and Savior." In Revelation 1:8 the Lord
| |
| | Father as a God because there is no Greek
|
| Jesus Christ Himself makes the claim that
| |
| | article. In any case, there are definite
|
| He is "the Almighty." It is clear from
| |
| | passages in Scripture where Christ is
|
| the context of the chapter that it is
| |
| | referred to as "the God", that is with
|
| Christ Who is speaking. Certainly, the
| |
| | the Greek article (i.e. Hebrews 1:8).I've
|
| Scriptures do not teach Christ to be a
| |
| | actually had someone tell me that it
|
| false God as is the case with the Devil
| |
| | doesn't matter if Christ is referred to
|
| who is called "the god (or ruler) of this
| |
| | as "the God" in the Greek New Testament
|
| world." Ephesians 2:2 says that the
| |
| | Scriptures because even the Apostle Paul
|
| worldly make the Devil their god and so
| |
| | and Silas (who were mere men) were
|
| did believers before they were saved: "in
| |
| | referred to as "the Gods" by pagans in
|
| which you used to live when you followed
| |
| | the Greek New Testament Scriptures. But
|
| the ways of this world and of the ruler
| |
| | it's one thing for pagans to assert
|
| of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who
| |
| | something since pagans can be wrong about
|
| is now at work in those who are
| |
| | what they believe, and the pagans were
|
| disobedient." The Devil is a false god
| |
| | wrong when they believed Paul and Silas
|
| and a creature. Christ, on the other
| |
| | to be "the Gods", but it's quite another
|
| hand, is true God and Creator. We read in
| |
| | thing when the Apostles themselves who
|
| John 1:3 that without Christ (Who is also
| |
| | wrote the Holy Scriptures assert that
|
| called the Word) "not anything was made
| |
| | Jesus Christ is "the God." Just because
|
| that was made." Obviously, then, Christ
| |
| | what pagans believe and say is recorded
|
| was not made or otherwise He would have
| |
| | in Scripture doesn't mean that's what
|
| had to have made Himself which makes no
| |
| | Scripture is teaching! After all, the
|
| sense. Colossians 1:17 teaches that
| |
| | lies of the Devil are accurately recorded
|
| Christ "is before all things and by Him
| |
| | in Scripture but that doesn't mean
|
| all things consist (are sustained)." And
| |
| | Scripture supports or teaches those lies.
|
| Colossians 1:18 says about Christ that
| |
| | On the other hand, when the very Apostles
|
| "He is the head of the body, the church,
| |
| | who wrote the Greek New Testament
|
| who is the beginning, the firstborn from
| |
| | Scriptures, by the inspiration of God's
|
| the dead, that in all things He may have
| |
| | Holy Spirit, assert and teach that Christ
|
| the preeminence." No creature must have
| |
| | is "the God" we are not then talking
|
| the preeminence in all things. That
| |
| | about what pagans believe or say but
|
| position belongs only to Jehovah (or God)
| |
| | rather what the Spirit of God Himself is
|
| alone, and, thus, Christ must be Jehovah
| |
| | saying through the Apostles. And what the
|
| (or God) in order for the Scriptures to
| |
| | Apostles say and teach we must not
|
| declare that He must have the preeminence
| |
| | reject! The fact is Christ, along with
|
| in all things. Glory to God! Only God is
| |
| | the Father and the Holy Spirit, is
|
| capable of fitting such a description!In
| |
| | equally the God. There are no two Gods (a
|
| certain references of Scripture the
| |
| | little God and a big God as the cults
|
| Father as God may have preeminence
| |
| | teach). Neither are there three Gods.
|
| because the Father is the Head of Christ
| |
| | Rather, there is one God in three
|
| just as Adam was the head of Eve and had
| |
| | distinct Persons - Father, Son, and Holy
|
| a certain preeminence and priority in
| |
| | Spirit. The Bible clearly teaches in
|
| relationship to her. But, this does not
| |
| | various passages that the Father is God,
|
| mean that Eve was inferior to Adam. So,
| |
| | the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is
|
| similarly Christ is not inferior to the
| |
| | God and, yet, the Bible also teaches
|
| Father even though the Father is the Head
| |
| | there is only one God. Thus, what we are
|
| of Christ. Of course, while on earth
| |
| | to understand is that the Father, the
|
| Christ could say that the Father was
| |
| | Son, and the Holy Spirit are three divine
|
| greater because positionally speaking
| |
| | Persons Who share one divine nature and
|
| Christ had humbled Himself in the
| |
| | Who are also one in purpose and
|
| incarnation by becoming a man and
| |
| | fellowship. As Christians we may be one
|
| subjecting Himself to the law.A question
| |
| | with God in fellowship and purpose but we
|
| often raised is how could God Who is
| |
| | are not one with God in sharing His
|
| infinite become incarnated as finite man.
| |
| | eternal and divine nature. The Father,
|
| The answer is that in the miracle of the
| |
| | Son, and the Holy Spirit are one in both
|
| Incarnation the infinite God grafted onto
| |
| | their divine nature and in their
|
| Himself finite human nature. The finite
| |
| | fellowship, communion, and purpose.It is
|
| didn't contain the infinite but, rather,
| |
| | very unfortunate that so many in the
|
| the Infinite contained the finite. Just
| |
| | cults have distorted and twisted what the
|
| as a one gallon tank can't hold ten
| |
| | Scriptures teach regarding the Person and
|
| gallons but, yet, a ten gallon tank can
| |
| | work of our precious Lord and Savior
|
| hold one gallon so, too, the infinite God
| |
| | Jesus Christ. True Christians thoughout
|
| (Christ) circumscribed and united to
| |
| | history, regardless of denomination, have
|
| Himself finite human nature when He
| |
| | always agreed on the primary and
|
| condescended to become Man. Colossians
